WFR TrailTriage ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in our wilderness medicine documentation app.
Information We Collect
Data You Create
WFR TrailTriage allows you to create and store SOAP notes containing:
- Patient information (names, demographics)
- Medical observations and vital signs
- Scene and incident details
- Treatment plans and evacuation notes
- Photos and voice recordings (if you choose to add them)
How We Store Your Data
Local Storage: All SOAP notes and patient data are stored locally on your device. We do not transmit this information to our servers or any third-party services.
iCloud Sync (Optional): If you enable iCloud sync in your device settings, your data may be synchronized across your Apple devices using Apple's iCloud service. This data is encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud account, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Information We Don't Collect
We do not collect, transmit, or have access to:
- Personal health information (PHI) you enter in the app
- Analytics or usage data
- Location data
- Contact lists or other device data
- Advertising identifiers
How We Use Information
Since all data remains on your device, we do not use your information for any purpose. You have complete control over:
- What data you enter
- How long you keep it
- Whether to export or share it
- When to delete it
Data Sharing
WFR TrailTriage does not share your data with any third parties. You can choose to export SOAP notes as text to share with medical professionals or emergency services, but this is entirely under your control.
HIPAA Compliance
While WFR TrailTriage is designed with healthcare documentation in mind and follows privacy-conscious practices, it is your responsibility to ensure your use of the app complies with applicable healthcare privacy laws, including HIPAA if you are a covered entity. We recommend:
- Using device passcodes and biometric authentication
- Being cautious when exporting or sharing patient data
- Following your organization's policies regarding patient documentation
- De-identifying patient information when appropriate
Data Security
Your data security is important to us. We implement security measures including:
- Local encryption of data on your device (provided by iOS)
- No transmission of sensitive data over networks
- Encrypted iCloud storage (if you enable sync)
- No third-party access to your data
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Access: View all your SOAP notes at any time
- Edit: Modify any information you've entered
- Export: Generate text exports of your notes
- Delete: Remove individual notes or all data from the app
Children's Privacy
WFR TrailTriage is intended for use by trained Wilderness First Responders and medical professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
